London - what have you done?

This blog doesn't really voice political opinions, mainly because its writer has very little time for any party in this country.
However longpier really couldn't let the final result of the London Mayoral Election pass without asking one simple question:
LONDON - DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?
Boris Johnson has made gaffe after gaffe, mistake after mistake and yet the Tory buffoon has waltzed into City Hall, beating Ken Livingstone. Of course Livingstone isn't without his faults, but surely he would have been a better leader of our fine city for the next four years?
Here are just a few of Johnson's past controversies and some more here. Also, who can forget this hilarious, but awful tackle during a charity football game:
Am I the only one to think Londoners have made a huge error here? This is the man who will be the public face if there's another terrorist attack on our capital city, this is the man who will be promoting London in the run up to the Olympics, and this is the man who will - no doubt - make many, many more mistakes in the future. Good luck London!

You're not alone.
I spent weeks arguing at work with people that thought it was a good idea based solely on his appearance on HIGNFY (where his jokes wee ghost written anyhow).
I despair...
It was the Standard that won it for him anyhow by single handedly telling all of middle-class London to ignore Ken. I doubt that was in anyway connected with the Standard (who also print the Metro) having a bad relationship with Ken in a year when their distribution on the Tube is up for review. Some of the things they said about Ken too were shocking.
Ken wasn't perfect, but he wasn't an absolute waste of space either. All I can hope for now is Boris to massively screw up and damage Cameron's reputation beyond repair.
I agree Sean. I don't usually dabble with politics - but this just had to be said. I think London will regret this decision.
